Sunday (sândei) – Domingo
Monday (mándei) – Segunda
Tuesday (tiúsdei) – Terça
Wednesday (uénsdei) – Quarta
Thursday (THârsdei) – Quinta
Friday (fRáidei) – Sexta
Saturday (sátuRdei) – Sábado
Como usar os dias da semana da forma correta
Uma regra que é importante que você saiba é que os nomes dos dias da semana sempre devem ser escritos com a primeira letra maiúscula.
Para falar sobre os dias da semana nós também temos o vocabulário:
Weekdays – Dias da semana
Business Day – Dia útil
Weekend – Final de semana
Qual preposição usar em inglês para os dias da semana?
Uma dúvida muito comum que surge em muitas pessoas é sobre qual preposição devemos usar quando falamos dos dias da semana para dizermos “na segunda”, “na sexta” e etc.
A preposição que devemos usar é “on”.
Então para dizermos “na quarta” vamos falar “on Wednesday”.

We went shopping with John on Friday. – Nós fomos às compras com o John na sexta-feira.
I go to church on Wednesday. – Eu vou a igreja na quarta-feira.
I have English classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. – Eu tenho aulas de inglês às terças e quintas-feiras.
Como falar “no sábado à noite”
Também é comum ao nos referirmos aos dias da semana falando sobre o período do dia, por exemplo, “na quinta à noite” (on Thursday night), “no sábado à tarde” (on Saturday afternoon) e assim por diante.
Nesses casos vamos usar as palavras:
- Morning
- Afternoon
- Evening
- Night

I will arrive on Saturday night. – Eu chegarei no sábado à noite.
They will call you on Monday morning. – Eles vão te ligar na segunda-feira de manhã.
Como falar “de segunda a sexta”
Outra forma bem comum que costumamos falar sobre os dias da semana é quando falamos sobre o período que algo acontece.
Por exemplo, quando falamos, “eu trabalho de segunda a sexta”.
Em inglês podemos falar isso de duas formas:
Monday to Friday
Ou
From Monday to Friday

The pharmacy is open from Monday to Saturday. – A farmácia abre de segunda a sábado.

Quando queremos falar de algo que se repete em dois dias ou mais na semana, podemos falar:
On Mondays and Tuesdays – Nas segundas e terças-feiras.
I study English on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Eu estudo inglês nas terças e sábados.
