Qual a diferença entre What e Which?

As palavras what e which possuem o mesmo significado em inglês: “qual”, “o que” e “que”.

E apesar de terem o mesmo significado existe uma pequena diferença bem simples em como usar cada uma delas e eu vou te mostrar qual é agora!

Quando usar What?

A palavra what é usada em perguntas e frases onde há um número ilimitado de possíveis respostas e é usada em perguntas gerais.

Exemplos:

What is your name?

Qual é o seu nome?

What is your favorite movie?

Qual seu filme favorito?

Quando usar Which?

A palavra which é usada em perguntas e frases em que há apenas um número limitado de opções de escolha.

Ela é usada quando temos uma pergunta de múltipla escolha onde as opções já estão determinadas.

Exemplos:

Which color do you like? Green or purple?

Qual cor você gosta? Verde ou roxo?

Which doctor did you see: John or Mike?

Qual médico você viu: John ou Mike?
